What brands of pet foods are a good choice for dogs?
This post contains affiliate links, and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Rule of thumb: Just don't buy food with the main ingredients being corn, wheat gluten, and any meat by-products. You can find affordable and expensive foods without wasting your money on corn. These ingredients are not good for dogs and are the leading cause of obesity and secondary problems in dogs (like diarrhea, gas, skin and shedding issues, and sometimes behavioral).
We thoroughly research and write about proper pet care. There are some affiliate links which might help us earn money and dedicatedly carry out our work.
The first thing you should check out is the protein content, Orijen for example has really quite a lot so you might have problems with it, especially if the dog is older or have semi-weak kidneys. Check out the Dog food analysis website, and only settle for the 5 or 6-star reviews.
We have ranked the top 10 dog food brands your furry friend might like, we have also hyperlinked the shop where you are most likely to find the product.

If your dog has allergies, Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach is a good bet. They have salmon plus rice, and lamb plus oat variety. They also just came out with a new turkey and oatmeal variety for that line too, but not sure how easy it is to get since it's literally brand new.
Purina is a good, science-backed brand, and they are good about keeping those kibbles on separate lines so the risks of cross-contamination of ingredients are smaller than it is with other retail diets.
